Valencia boss Nuno has admitted that his side must improve their away form if they are to make the top four in La Liga this season.
Los Che's home form this term has been the joint-best in the division, with nine wins and just one defeat from their 11 matches.
It has been a different story on the road, however, with the former Spanish champions winning just three times in 10 games.
"We started the game well, achieving a foothold at both ends. Then we lost control of the game and Malaga started to harm us. We tried to fix things at half time but we weren't able to overcome it. It's clear that we couldn't quite do everything we wanted to," Nuno told reporters following his side's 1-0 defeat at Malaga.
"The preparation and training is the same for away games, but it's clear we're not achieving what we are when we play at home. We've been very effective at Mestalla but that wasn't the case tonight. We're honest and we want to change things quickly."
Valencia currently sit fifth in La Liga, one point behind fourth-placed Sevilla, who have a game in hand.
