Philippe Senderos has revealed his delight after making his Valencia debut in their 5-0 win over Real Betis at the weekend.
The Swiss centre-back, who moved to Spain from Fulham in the January window, was forced off in the latter stages with cramp, but insists that it was "nothing serious".
"It was a great moment in my career and for my family, who were there behind me in the stands, watching the game. It was a great moment that will stay in my heart for a long time," he told the club's official website.
"It's a shame I didn't finish the game as I would have liked, but I had cramp. I've got to get myself used to the rhythm of play here, the pitch, but it's nothing serious as I've already trained well and I'm ready to compete.
"The most important thing for any defender, is not to concede goals. It was a great debut for me, winning 5-0 in front of our own fans and that's what matters the most."
Valencia currently sit eighth in La Liga.
