Valencia have thrashed Real Betis 5-0 in La Liga at Estadio Mestalla this afternoon.
Ruben Castro came close to breaking the deadlock for the visitors just 10 minutes into the match, but his low, long-range strike was well saved.
However, Valencia soon started to dominate the possession, and were able to take the lead shortly before half time when Jeremy Mathieu headed in from a Pablo Piatti corner.
The hosts added a second just a couple of minutes later as they finished the opening 45 minutes strongly, with Eduardo Vargas setting up Paco Alcacer, who just had to tap in from close range.
Betis came out fighting after the break, with Antonio Amaya and Castro both threatening the Valencia goal, but neither was able to get the away side back into the match.
Sofiane Feghouli was able to extend the hosts' advantage further, drilling the ball in following a quick break by Alcacer.
Alcacer completed his brace just six minutes later, heading past Antonio Adan with a close-range effort.
The visitors pressed hard as they tried to get a goal back, but Valencia still looked dangerous with the ball, and clinched a fifth when Vargas slotted it home after Javi Fuego had his effort saved.
Jonas and Juan Bernat both had chances to add a sixth with a couple of strikes inside the final 10 minutes, but Adan was able to prevent further misery for Betis.
