DC United have lost 1-0 at home to Vancouver Whitecaps in their MLS encounter.
A penalty early in the second half was enough to give the visitors all three points.
The game didn't take long to burst into life, as Dwayne De Rosario smashed the ball against the post after it dropped to him in the middle of the box.
Vancouver hit the post themselves shortly after when Kenny Miller found Russell Teibert free in the box, but his shot from a tight angle rebounded back off the upright.
Neither side were able to come any closer in the first half and went in goalless at the break.
A similarly lively start to the second half allowed the visitors to take the lead from the penalty spot. Bill Hamid brought down Matt Watson and Camilo Sanvezzo made no mistake from 12 yards.
Teibert missed several chances to increase Vancouver's advantage as the game wore on, but it didn't matter as they were able to hang on for all three points in the end.
