Sporting Kansas City have recorded a comfortable 3-1 away victory against the Vancouver Whitecaps in the Eastern Conference.
Kansas started impressively and were almost ahead in the ninth minute but Roger Espinoza failed to hit the target with his shot from just outside the area.
The visitors were ahead midway through the first half though, when Aurelien Collin smashed a loose ball into the back of the net from close range.
Sebastian Le Toux nearly levelled the match before half time but the Vancouver forward's header was saved by Jimmy Nielsen.
Kansas doubled their lead early in the second half as Martin Bonjour was unable to clear and turned the ball into his own net.
The away side put the match beyond doubt 10 minutes later as Kei Kamara finished well from close range following some good work from Chance Myers on the wing.
Vancouver continued to struggle but did manage to grab a consolation goal late on in the game.
It was Le Toux who was once again gifted an opportunity but this time the striker made no mistake as he headed home to make the score 3-1.
