Hellas Verona striker Luca Toni has revealed that he would be interested in making a return to the international fold with Italy.
The 36-year-old has scored 16 times in 47 games for his country, but has not taken part in international football for over four years.
His form in the early stages of the season has led to suggestions that he could be recalled for the World Cup next summer, with the former Juventus striker open to making a return.
"We'll have to see what kind of performances I can put in during the rest of the season," Toni told Rai Due.
"However, a lot will depend on the choices of boss Cesare Prandelli who is taking forward a project with a squad which is already well formed."
Toni's last goal for Italy was against Greece in November 2008.
