Goals from Tomas Horava and Milan Petrzela have given Viktoria Plzen a 2-0 win against Dinamo Minsk in their Europa League opener this evening.
Both sides struggled to create chances for much of the first half, before Dinamo Minsk's Sergiu Alexandru Neacsa fired wide on 19 minutes with the game's first chance.
Plzen opened the scoring on 36 minutes through Horava, who headed into the net from a well-worked corner.
The hosts almost doubled their lead immediately through Patrik Hrosovsky, but the midfielder fired just wide from outside the penalty area.
After half time Minsk came close to finding an equaliser through a Vladimir Korytko free kick, but his effort went just over the bar.
Plzen scored their second goal of the game on 75 minutes through Petrzela, who produced a neat finish from inside the penalty area to wrap up the Czech side's victory.
Jan Holenda almost added a third Plzen goal before the final whistle, but his header from close range went wide.
