Vitesse have moved top of the Eredivisie after picking up their first victory of the season at home to Roda JC.
Peter Bosz's side looked to make a fast start with Isaiah Brown trying to tee up Abiola Dauda, but the forward was unable to latch on to the English youngster's pass.
Dauda was again involved on 10 minutes as he received Kevin Diks's pass only to see his shot saved by Benjamin van Leer.
With the hosts continuing to press for an opener, Milot Rashica tried his luck from distance, but failed to trouble Van Leer in the Roda goal.
However, the visitors' resolve broke on the stroke of half time as Vitesse were awarded a penalty.
Ard van Peppen was adjudged to have handled a goal-bound effort and received a red card as a result. Lewis Baker then slipped the spot kick past Van Leer to give the Arnhem the lead at the interval.
Bosz's men then made sure of the points on 68 minutes as Dauda finally got himself on the scoresheet.
Nathan added a third goal with 10 minutes remaining as Vitesse move one point clear of the chasing pack for the time being.
