Lyon have secured top spot in Group I with a 2-1 win against Vitoria de Guimaraes.
Both sides started strongly. Yoann Gourcuff hammered a free kick from 40 yards which Douglas saved, and then Marco Matias drifted into space for the hosts and curled a left-footed shot just wide.
The attacking intent of both was clear from the beginning, but it was Guimaraes who struck first.
A free kick was drifted in from the left and Antonio Tomane shrugged off a challenge to fire his shot in.
Arnold Mvuemba went close for Lyon with a half-volley, but the home side almost went 2-0 up when Mehdi Zeffane had to clear Crivellaro Rafael's shot off the line.
The second half started at a frantic pace, with Douglas making a save from Zeffane's long-range effort.
Zeffane was involved again, clearing off the line for a second time after Chris Malonga had hit a low shot, before Lyon had a goal disallowed for offside.
However, the match then turned on its head in the space of five minutes. Pedro Correia was sent off for lunging in on Gourcuff in the penalty area and Bafetimbi Gomis dispatched the spot kick.
The French side then took the lead with a Jordan Ferri shot after Guimaraes had failed to clear a cross.
The home side were inches away from a leveller when Nii Plange and then Leandro Freire hit the post.
