Wayne Hennessey has revealed that he is looking forward to reigniting an old rivalry when he faces off against Joe Hart at the European Championships in France next year.
The Wales number one will come up against his English counterpart in a much-anticipated clash of the two nations in Lens on June 16.
"I'm very close to Joe Hart, he's England's No.1 and has been fantastic. I have known Joe for a while because when I was at Wolves I used to live in Shrewsbury," the Palace stopper told the Daily Star. "His family used to live not far from me. I played against him numerous times and we kind of stayed together. I probably won't text him right now but we will see when I do.
"Some of the saves Joe's made over the years have been outstanding. It's a part and parcel of being a goalkeeper that you will be amazing some days and make the odd mistake in others.
"But Joe is doing tremendously well and he is England's No.1, he's a fantastic player. I can't wait. Every game I represent my country it is an honour. It makes my family proud too."
England and Wales are joined in Group B at the Euros by Slovakia and Russia.
