Watford manager Quique Flores has talked up the importance of Heurelho Gomes to his side following the goalkeeper's match-winning performance against West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.
Gomes made a string of saves to maintain his clean sheet, including denying Saido Berahino twice from the penalty spot, as Ben Watson's goal proved enough for the Hornets to pick up the win.
The result took Flores's side past the 40-point mark in the Premier League, and the Spanish manager was quick to praise his goalkeeper's contribution.
"We are happy we didn't concede a lot of chances, just the two penalties, and when he had to Heurelho made the saves. He is important for us," he told reporters.
"I think a clean sheet is always important for the team. I'm not sure exactly how we conceded two penalties but he had to save them, this is normal.
"We are really happy for the performance of Heurelho because he is one of the main players for us this season."
The result sees Watford leapfrog the Baggies in the table and move up to 12th.
