Watford head coach Javi Gracia has not ruled out the possibility of Heurelho Gomes being handed a start against Newcastle United.
Gomes has not featured for the Hornets since the arrival of Gracia, who has given the nod to Orestis Karnezis since the middle of January.
However, Karnezis made an error in the 2-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night and although stating that he retains belief in the Greece international, Gracia has suggested that he is considering a change between the sticks.
The 48-year-old is quoted by the Watford Observer as saying: "It is a position which is cruel on you sometimes. The mistakes, you can make in another part of the field may not get criticised in the same way as a keeper.
"I am confident not only in Karnezis but in all the goalkeepers, Gomes and Daniel Bachmann as well. If he makes a mistake I do not change my opinion about if he is a good player or not.
"Every player makes mistakes and we need to try and improve that but I see the same player. We will see if he keeps his place."
A report has claimed that Karnezis is considering a return to Greece during the summer.
