Slavisa Jokanovic has claimed that his Watford side fully deserved their 2-0 victory over Wigan Athletic.
A brace from Troy Deeney secured the points at the DW Stadium, and despite admitting that the team were not at their best in the first half, Jokanovic believes that the second-half improvement was worthy of a win which sent them top of the Championship.
"We came here with respect for the home team, and we were not sure what we were going to find from them and the pitch," the Serbian told reporters. "We started the game a little bit waiting what was going to happen, and in the first half it was 50-50.
"In the second half we played with more offensive play, we scored a goal and we then could have scored more.
"We did score a second goal at the end, but I feel we played better and we deserved that win."
Watford are back in action against fellow promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town on Saturday.
