Watford's poor home form continues, as a first-half Kaspars Gorkss goal gave Reading all three points at Vicarage Road this afternoon.
It is now just one win in 14 for Watford in all competitions, and six losses at home in their last eight games.
Gorkss's header following a Jordan Obita cross made matters worse for Giueseppe Sannino's men, as Reading held on to their early lead to take all three points.
Watford did have chances to draw level, however, and Reading had keeper Alex McCarthy to thank for a string of saves.
Fernando Forestieri came close to levelling the contest as he snuck in at the back post, but failed to convert an in-swinging cross.
McCarthy was called into action on a number of occasions as the home side stepped up the tempo, though Alexander Merkel's straight red card in the closing stages for a high-footed challenge signalled the end of any Watford hopes.
