Watford confirm the signing of AZ Alkmaar winger Steven Berghuis on a four-year contract.

Watford have confirmed the signing of Dutch winger Steven Berghuis from AZ Alkmaar.

The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Hornets as the London club prepare for their first Premier League campaign in eight years.

A former Netherlands Under-21 international, Berghuis scored 21 goals in 92 appearances for AZ after joining from FC Twente in 2012.

The signing was announced shortly after Watford confirmed that midfielder Diego Fabbrini had departed the club on loan for Middlesbrough.
