Alex Jakubiak has returned to parent club Watford after a stale period while on loan at Oxford United.
The 18-year-old scored on his first League Two start for Oxford back in August, but has made just one start since so Watford have decided to bring him back to Vicarage Road.
He was due to remain with the U's until the New Year.
"First of all I want to thank Watford for letting him come here on loan," Oxford boss Michael Appleton told the club website.
"He has found it hard to get games over the last few weeks and we talked to Watford and the player himself and everyone agreed that the best thing for him right now is to be back at Vicarage Road.
"Alex has tons of ability and is keen to learn and we have enjoyed working with him here and wish him well for the future."
The striker made his Watford debut from the bench at Huddersfield Town in the final game of last season in the Championship.
