Watford players have reportedly demanded that the club's next manager is British following the departure of Quique Sanchez Flores over the weekend.
In what was his second spell in charge of the club, the Spaniard was removed from his position after just 10 games on Sunday.
Flores had followed another Spaniard in the form of Javi Gracia, who was the only Watford manager since 2013 to last longer than a full season.
According to the Daily Mail, Watford's players believe that a homegrown boss would serve as an antidote to the club's current problems.
Nine of Watford's last 10 managers have been foreign coaches, with Sean Dyche's reign between 2011 and 2012 serving as the last time that a British coach was in charge on a permanent basis.
Chris Hughton and Paul Clement are said to be two candidates in the running to become the next Watford boss.
