West Bromwich Albion have announced that Nicolas Anelka will return to training ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash with Swansea City.
The 34-year-old was granted compassionate leave following the death of close friend and agent Eric Manasse.
It was reported that the Frenchman was considering his future in the game, but the Baggies have confirmed that he has agreed to return after a meeting with manager Steve Clarke.
"Albion can confirm that Nicolas Anelka will resume first-team training and be available for selection for Sunday's game against Swansea," read a statement from the club.
"The striker was excused from club duty for the fixtures against Everton and Newport on compassionate grounds and, having met with head coach Steve Clarke, he will rejoin his team-mates."
Anelka joined West Brom on a free transfer last month.
