Alan Irvine: 'Supporter unrest will not help West Bromwich Albion'

Alan Irvine says that everybody involved with West Bromwich Albion must 'pull in the same direction' if they are to overcome their current run of bad results.

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Irvine has warned that unrest from supporters "is not going to help" the club in their pursuit of returning to winning ways.

The Baggies have lost four games in succession in the Premier League, which culminated in a 2-1 defeat against West Ham United at The Hawthorns in midweek.

That reverse led to fans once more airing their frustrations with under-fire Irvine, although the West Brom boss believes that he is the man to turn around his side's faltering form.

"It's not going to help, it doesn't make it any easier that's for sure," the 56-year-old is quoted as saying by the Birmingham Mail. "I can't control that. The fans have come in, they support the team, they've got every right to behave whichever way they choose to behave.

"I've said we are a lot stronger if everybody is pulling in the same direction and that's hopefully what we'll be able to do. It's not that long ago Sam Allardyce or Alan Pardew were going through all sorts. It comes with the territory, you just have to keep on doing the things that you believe will work."

West Brom, who are now down in 16th place in the league table, travel to face Hull City this coming weekend.
