West Bromwich Albion striker Peter Odemwingie has slammed suggestions that he is exaggerating his injury woes.
The 30-year-old was criticised by manager Roy Hodgson, who described the frontman's prolonged absence as "frustrating".
The Nigeria international responded by posting a picture of himself on Twitter, pressing down on his injured knee with the post: "Picture of injury. Fingerprints to show an edema [accumulation of fluid], still present after three and a half weeks. Trained with the group today [Thursday]."
The former Lille forward subsequently deleted a tweet stating: "Picture taken now. My dear West Brom fans, I do care".
Odemwingie, who claimed 15 goals for the Baggies last season, has been sidelined for a month with his knee problem.
