Alan Pardew: 'West Bromwich Albion still have momentum after Everton draw'

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew says that his side have not lost their Premier League momentum following their 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.

West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew has said that his side have not lost their Premier League momentum following their 1-1 draw with Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Baggies striker Jay Rodriguez gave the visitors the perfect start, opening the scoring after seven minutes. Opposite number Oumar Niasse then levelled the scores in a match that was overshadowed by Toffees midfielder James McCarthy's leg injury.

The result means that Pardew's side are unbeaten in two top-flight games following a 20-match run without a win.

"We made it very difficult for Everton, we limited them to very few chances but we're starting to create more chances - the momentum is still with us and we go to the next game," Pardew told BBC Sport.

"All through this team there was a lack of opening up and we're starting to see that change now, we played well today with some good link-up play and it showed in our chances.

"If we're going to get out of this, it's going to be with two strikers on the pitch and I thought we showed that improvement today."

West Brom's next game is an FA Cup tie with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
