Tony Pulis has said that Salomon Rondon showed some "great attributes" during his home debut for West Bromwich Albion.
The club's record signing played the full 90 minutes in the 3-2 defeat to Chelsea at The Hawthorns, setting up the first goal for the Baggies.
"The kid obviously hasn't played for a while and to come in to play against the champions elect [was tough]. They know they've been in a game," the Birmingham Mail quotes the manager as saying.
"The two centre-halves would know they've been in a game because he's given them a real good game. He made one and was involved in the other.
"We have to be careful with him because it will take time for him to adjust, but he's shown some great attributes."
Rondon scored 17 goals in 38 appearances for Russian side Zenit St Petersburg last season.
