West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has likened Newcastle United to a 'growling animal' ahead of this afternoon's clash at St James' Park.
Two points above the relegation zone after losing their last eight games, Newcastle host the Baggies looking for a much-needed win as they look to boost their survival hopes.
John Carver's side have managed just one victory in 12 outings, but Pulis has played down United's woes and urges his charges to be mindful of the wounded Magpies.
"Newcastle is a big club with unbelievable expectations," he told The Mirror. "It is a big animal and it needs feeding and if it is not being fed, it growls.
"That is what the football club is doing at the moment – it is growling.
"That animal is still growling and will be dangerous. We know it is going to be tough up there."
Albion come into the clash on the back of 1-0 win at Manchester United last Saturday.
