Pepe Mel admits that he was left "very cross" by his side's 3-3 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

West Bromwich Albion manager Pepe Mel has admitted that he was left feeling "very cross" after seeing his side lose a three-goal lead against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Baggies raced 3-0 ahead inside 31 minutes, before Tim Sherwood's side struck back to eventually level the contest in the closing stages.

"We are very cross," Mel told reporters following the game at The Hawthorns. "Tottenham are a top six side, and they're one of the best teams in this league. I think we deserve a lot of credit for our good first half, but I think the second is just one of those things that happens in football.

"Tottenham played very well and I'm not sure why, but we kept falling further and further back. It is good if they are cross. It is a positive because they want to win. We need to see the same reaction as we had at Norwich. We are a modest team and I know we must work very hard to achieve things.

"Ever since I've been at the club the refereeing decisions haven't gone for us. The penalty against us at Villa Park, the penalty against us at Crystal Palace and so indeed the penalty today. We've had possible penalties that could have been given for us that haven't been blown."

The result leaves West Brom three points above the Premier League relegation zone.
