West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster has admitted that he is surprised to see the future of head coach Pepe Mel being called into question.
The former Real Betis boss has failed to win a Premier League game since taking charge in January, while Saturday's 3-0 defeat to Manchester United means that the team sit 17th in the table.
"It's incredible isn't it? But that's the way the game has gone. It's gone mad, completely crazy," Clubcall.com quotes him as saying.
"It seems now that every new manager that comes in - unless they start winning straight away - is going to be in trouble.
"The players don't pay any attention to the speculation about Pepe. I really like him, I think most of the guys do."
Mel has conceded that he could be replaced as West Brom boss if results do not improve.
