West Bromwich Albion have reportedly rejected an offer from Newcastle United to sign Salomon Rondon on loan.
Rafael Benitez has already brought in winger Kenedy on loan from Chelsea, free agent central midfielder Ki Sung-yueng and goalkeeper Martin Dubravka from Sparta Prague.
However, the Spaniard is believed to be especially keen on strengthening his team's forward lines, although the Magpies will be hamstrung by restricted funds this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle are eager to offer the Venezuela international a swift return to the Premier League, but Benitez's opening proposal has been "angrily waved away" by the Championship club.
Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move for Rondon.
