West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that they are interested in signing former Celtic striker Georgios Samaras.
Reports emerged in the last few days claiming that the Baggies have stepped up their pursuit of the 29-year-old after he left Celtic following a six-year spell at the Scottish club.
Via West Brom's official Twitter page, the club confirmed that manager Alan Irvine has made enquiries over Samaras in this window.
The Greek international, who had a two-year stint at Manchester City, found the back of the net 74 times in 248 games while at Celtic.
