Former West Ham United striker Dean Ashton believes that manager Sam Allardyce is under pressure ahead of the club's League Cup quarter-final clash against Tottenham Hotspur.
The Hammers are currently one place above the bottom three in the Premier League table having taken 14 points from 16 games.
With plenty of managers getting sacked in recent weeks, Ashton believes that Allardyce is on extra pressure to turn things around at Upton Park.
"West Ham as a club and the West Ham fans certainly expect a lot more from the team and don't really want to be in a relegation battle," Ashton told BBC Radio 5 live. "I'm pretty sure there's quite a bit of pressure on Sam."
The Hammers will travel to White Hart Lane for this evening's encounter.
