West Ham United assistant manager Neil McDonald has said that his side deserved to win their Capital One Cup match against Cardiff City this evening.
Ricardo Vaz Te scored a late winner for the Hammers to send them through to the fourth round of the Cup but McDonald felt that they should have had the game won far sooner.
"It should have been all over by half time," the club's official Twitter feed quotes him as saying.
"We created chance after chance but didn't finish them off and they nearly punished us.
"But we stuck together and we'll take a 3-2 win with a goal a couple of minutes from the end."
West Ham visit Hull City in the Premier League on Saturday.
