Winston Reid has targeted a repeat opening-game performance from West Ham United as they look to pick up victory away at Chelsea on Monday evening.
The Hammers pulled off a major upset 12 months ago when beating title favourites Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium to kick off their campaign in style.
Reid, who featured in that 2-0 win over the Gunners, insists that West Ham will go all out to pick up another three-point haul from their first London derby showdown of the new season.
"Chelsea, who have a top new manager, will be raring to go and will want to start well and it's tough against the top sides, but we hope to do what we did last season at Arsenal and pick up a positive result," he told the club's official website.
"Last season, that game really kick-started the season and we hope something similar will come our way. It would be the perfect start. It's going to be tough. Obviously they had a disappointing season last year and have a quality squad, but we want to try and go there and get a good result."
Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 10 matches against United at Stamford Bridge, while the Blues have also won 10 of their last 13 opening fixtures on home soil.
