James Tomkins has admitted that it was all the sweeter for West Ham United to end their four-game losing run against local rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.
The Hammers earned a 2-0 win over Spurs at Upton Park to secure their Premier League status for another season.
West Ham finish their campaign on Sunday when they travel to title-chasing Manchester City.
"It feels like it's been a long time coming now with the four defeats, but to end it at home to Spurs with a victory - the third one over them this year - is great and it means the fans have got something to be happy about this season," Tomkins told the club's official website.
Tomkins has made 34 appearances in all competitions for Sam Allardyce's side this season.
