West Ham United co-owner David Gold has claimed that the club are close to securing a deal to become the new occupants of the Olympic Stadium.
The fate of the stadium has been the subject of much debate, with a number of glitches setting the final decision back significantly.
However, Gold now believes that a deal could be done within the next two weeks, although he is hesitant to put an exact date on it.
"I think we're close," Gold told talkSPORT.
"It's only what I'm being promised. As we speak I'm being promised March 16.
"I'm embarrassed because I've tweeted 10 times that it's going to be next week or next month and here's a date. The date comes and goes and then I give another date. But I think we are close."
Owners Gold and David Sullivan also revealed in their club accounts that they loaned West Ham £35m while in the Championship.
