Wigan Athletic boss Owen Coyle is adamant that his side are up to the challenge of facing Rubin Kazan when they lock horns in the Europa League on Thursday.
The Latics have taken four points from their first two group games against Maribor and Zulte but now face the task of playing unbeaten Rubin Kazan, who are featuring in a European competition for the fifth time in as many seasons.
Coyle told reporters: "Rubin are a fantastic side and favourites for the group but we have an opportunity to go above them tomorrow night, and if we play to our level we certainly believe we can win the game.
"We are under no illusions about how difficult it will be. This is a quality side. They have a tremendous European pedigree.
"We know we have to be focused and concentrated for the entirety of the match because if you lose that, with the quality they have, then you will be punished."
Coyle's side are 13th in the Championship following their defeat to Blackpool last weekend.
