Wigan Athletic midfielder Jordi Gomez has insisted that a FA Cup run will not affect his side's performance in the Premier League.
The Latics, who are second from bottom in the league standings, progressed to the fifth round of the competition with a 1-0 away win against Macclesfield Town on Saturday.
"The league is the priority and we are playing with more young players in the Cup, but we are still doing a great job," The Sun quotes the 27-year-old as saying.
"The manager (Roberto Martinez) has been making changes and everyone who is playing is giving their best. There is no problem with that and it's not a distraction.
"It is always nice to get a good run in the Cup. Stoke got to the final a couple of years back so it does prove that smaller teams can go far. In the FA Cup, you never know. You can get beaten by teams smaller than you."
Wigan will take on Stoke City away from home in the Premier League on Tuesday.
