Sports Mole previews Tuesday night's match at the DW as both Wigan Athletic and Sheffield Wednesday look to make it back-to-back wins.

Wigan Athletic will climb out of the Championship's bottom three if they win their second game in a row when Sheffield Wednesday visit the DW Stadium tomorrow night.

The Latics ended a five-game wait for a win under new boss Malky Mackay with a 2-0 victory at fellow strugglers Leeds United on Boxing Day.

That moved them up one place to 22nd and any margin of victory over the Owls will send Millwall down into the drop zone.

If they do win, it will be the first victory at home in exactly four months - a run of eight games at the DW without a success.

Mackay has no new injury concerns, but could rotate his starting XI with Callum McManaman and Shaun Maloney both unused substitutes at Elland Road on Friday.

Mid-table Wednesday also enter the match on the back of a Boxing Day win following their 1-0 success over rockbottom Blackpool.

It was just a third home win for Stuart Gray's side, with their away record much better than their haul at home.

No side has kept more clean sheets than the Owls (5) on the road, while they also have the joint-lowest away-defeat count with two losses on their travels.

They will have fond memories of facing Wigan as well after Stevie May's match-winning brace a month ago - the first league goals that Wednesday had scored against the Latics.

Glenn Loovens could return in defence for the visitors, while Kieran Lee is pushing for a start in midfield.

Wigan:

Wednesday:

Sports Mole says: 1-1
