Wigan Athletic chairman Dave Whelan has insisted that he will not be selling any players cheap to former manager Roberto Martinez at Everton.
Arouna Kone, James McCarthy and Callum McManaman have all been linked with following Martinez after the Spaniard was appointed the boss at Goodison Park on Wednesday.
"It's like any other club; if he wants to come and buy a player, he's got to offer enough money to tempt Wigan to sell that player," Whelan told Sky Sports News.
"Roberto will be my friend for the rest of my life and his life, I'm sure about that, but when you come to Wigan it's a business deal and you have got to pay the right money to get the right player."
Whelan recently revealed that he hopes to name Martinez's successor next weekend.
