Nuno Espirito Santo: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers should be proud'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo praises his side for taking a point from their "tough" trip to Millwall on Boxing Day.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Nuno Espirito Santo has praised his side for taking a point from their trip to Millwall yesterday.

The league leaders were behind early on after George Cooper found the net but battled back - even leading for a period in the second half - before settling for a 2-2 draw at the Den.

Combined with results elsewhere, Wolves extended their lead at the top of the Championship table to eight points and took their unbeaten run to 10 matches.

"We knew that Millwall would be like they were - they've got 21 of their 27 points from home this season. It's a tough environment to play," Nuno told reporters after the game. "But we showed a lot of character today and we can be proud of ourselves.

"It's not an indifferent result, 2-2 against Millwall away from home. It was a tough game, an entertaining and well disputed game, a lot of fighting for the ball.

"It's a tough stadium, one of the toughest in the competition."

Next up for Nuno's charges is a tough trip to face second-placed Bristol City on Saturday evening.
