Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has heaped praise on Mike Williamson for his performance on debut against local rivals Birmingham City.
Williamson, who joined Wolves on loan from Newcastle United this week, was part of the Wanderers backline which kept a clean sheet at St Andrew's in their 2-0 win over the Blues.
However, Jackett has claimed that a solid defensive display was much needed for his team.
He is quoted by the club's official Twitter feed as saying: "We needed it - conceded nine goals in the last three games and that doesn't give us a chance.
"He [Williamson] has brought his experience in and is a good complement to our other defenders.
Wolves are now within six points of Birmingham City, who remain in the top six ahead of Saturday afternoon's fixtures.
