Sam Vokes has reportedly begun discussions with Burnley over a transfer to Turf Moor.
The Welsh striker was recently informed by Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Stale Solbakken that he was free to find himself another team.
That news is believed to have alerted Burnley boss Eddie Howe, who had Vokes on loan at the club for part of last season.
Having learned of Burnley's interest, Vokes has now travelled down to their pre-season training base in Bath for talks with Howe and a medical, according to Sky Sports News.
The 22-year-old joined Wolves from Bournemouth in 2008.
