Republic of Ireland assistant coach Marco Tardelli has insisted that Kevin Doyle has an international future.
The Wolverhampton Wanderers striker has been left out of the 23-man Ireland squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Sweden and Austria.
"We love all the players who have given us many successes and all players deserve the same things," Tardelli is quoted as saying by Eurosport. "The boss can't call all the players.
"But for us, it's not finished, the time for Kevin Doyle. We know he is a good player and we know in the future, it is possible for him to come back."
Doyle was informed via text message that he would not be included in the latest Ireland squad.
