FIFA has banned the former chairman of the Bid Evaluation Group for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cups from all football-related activity for seven years.
Harold Mayne-Nicholls, who is also the ex-Chilean Football Association president, was issued with the punishment following a hearing held by the chairman of the investigatory chamber of the Ethics Committee Dr Cornel Borbely.
The 54-year-old had been facing a FIFA ethics charge for allegedly trying to arrange unpaid internships for family members with Qatar's Aspire academy.
World football's governing body has said that "more detailed information" in relation to the matter will be disclosed "after this final decision becomes effective".
