Gerard Houllier has said that it would be a "good idea" to allow teams to make a fourth substitution during extra time at the World Cup.

Teams can currently only make three changes at the tournament, even when playing an extra 30 minutes in the knockout rounds.

The former France coach, who currently serves as a member of FIFA's technical study group, told The AP: "It's a good idea. Only in extra time. Maybe if someone is injured, why not?"

At the tournament so far, 29 goals have come from players coming off the bench.
