Aldershot Town and Wrexham have played out a 1-1 draw in their Conference Premier encounter at the Recreation Ground.
Despite a relatively disappointing season in the Conference Premier, Wrexham still had ambitions of finishing in a top-10 spot and they took a step towards achieving that target by taking the lead after 10 minutes.
The ball was played to Louis Moult on the edge of the Aldershot penalty area, and the 22-year-old wasted little time before curling an effort into the corner.
Aldershot responded through Tristan Plummer, who fired a shot across goal, before Moult tried his luck from distance for a second time only to send his strike over the crossbar.
Seconds before the half-time interval, the home side were back on level terms through Andre McCollin, who took advantage of a poor defensive header from Manny Smith before racing clear and finishing calmly past Andy Coughlin.
Jay Harris wasted half an opening when lashing a long-range effort over the crossbar, while up the other end, a free kick from Sam Hatton forced a solid save out of Coughlin.
The closing stages of the game proved uneventful as Aldershot settled for a point that left Wrexham needing to beat AFC Telford United on the final day of the season to have a chance of overtaking Gateshead and Halifax Town.
