League One side Wycombe Wanderers have been placed under a transfer embargo.
The decision has been taken after the club failed to file their accounts for the year ending June 2011 on time.
However, Wanderers have tried to play down the issue, insisting that the problem will be "resolved in the coming weeks".
"The accounts were scheduled to be filed with Companies House and the Football League by Saturday, March 31 but have been delayed due to the imminent sale of Adams Park tenants London Wasps. Because of the uncertainty surrounding Wasps, the club have been unable to finalise the budget for the forthcoming season," read a statement on the club's official website.
"This means the club has been placed under a temporary transfer embargo but this should have no effect due to the transfer and loan window being closed.
"The embargo will be lifted once the accounts have been filed and the audit has been completed. The club would like to reassure supporters that the matter will be resolved in the coming weeks."
Wycombe will not lose any points as a punishment.
