York City have signed former Gillingham midfielder Lewis Montrose on a two-year contract.
The 24-year-old made 71 appearances in two seasons with the Gills, scoring six goals.
Montrose began his career at Wigan Athletic before moving to Wycombe Wanderers, where he scored four times in 50 appearances.
He becomes manager Nigel Worthington's fifth signing of the summer following the captures of Sander Puri, Wes Fletcher, Chris Kettings and Ryan Bowman.
