Ferrari test driver Esteban Gutierrez is hoping to settle into his new role quickly so that he can be a positive influence on the team in 2015.
The Mexican racer was dropped by Sauber after two years with the Swiss constructor before he joined the Scuderia in a bid to boost his long-term prospects in Formula 1.
However, Gutierrez is merely focusing on making an immediate impact with Ferrari.
He is quoted by Richland F1 as saying: "The important thing for me is to adapt and to settle in to this new environment as quickly as possible.
"I need to get to know the people I will be working with and I hope that my experience with the Ferrari engine will mean I can contribute to the development of the new power unit."
Ferrari opted to replace Fernando Alonso with four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel, who signed a three-year deal with the Italian outfit.
