Carlos Sainz has revealed that he is in discussions with "several teams" regarding the 2025 season.
Following his victory in Melbourne, speculation emerged that Andreas Seidl, the head of the Audi-owned Sauber team, has set a mid-April ultimatum for the Ferrari soon-to-be ex-driver to decide on a solid contract proposal.
Moreover, 29-year-old Sainz is also rumored to be in consideration for seats with Mercedes, Red Bull, and Aston Martin.
"I am negotiating with several teams," the Spanish driver confirmed in Suzuka on Thursday. "My management team and I have to do this because I don't have a job for next year yet.
"In fact, we are discussions with almost everyone to find out more details and understand which options are realistic and which are best for myself and my future.
"But I have nothing to say yet - no news. All I can say is that it's time to speed things up a little. Hopefully, we can put this matter to rest sooner rather than later," Sainz continued.
On a positive note, his recovery from a recent appendix surgery is nearly complete, and he was seen cycling on the roads of Australia shortly after his Melbourne triumph.
"I'm still not pushing myself as hard as I used to," the Ferrari driver noted, "but at least I've resumed training and feel 100 percent fit." body check tags ::
