Romain Grosjean feels that Daniel Ricciardo is to blame for their crash at the Monaco Grand Prix.

Lotus driver Romain Grosjean believes that he is not to blame for the crash with Daniel Ricciardo during the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday.

The Frenchman has been hit with a 10-place grid penalty for next month's Canadian Grand Prix after he was deemed to have caused the incident after he ran into the back of the Australian.

However, Grosjean is adamant that Ricciardo is the reason why he crashed in both the race and Saturday's qualifying.

"Daniel seemed to be really struggling with his rear tires," Grosjean said. "I was caught out by him braking early in the middle of the circuit and there was nowhere for me to go. It's a frustrating end to the weekend, but the real damage was done in qualifying when I didn't get through to Q3."

"That was Daniel again, who I was held up by. But it certainly wasn't my intention to end my race in the back of his car.

"Now we just press the reset button and head to Canada."

Grosjean sits ninth in the drivers' standings.
