McLaren driver Fernando Alonso believes that he could have qualified as high as sixth for the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Spaniard suffered electrical problems during the second part of qualifying and ended up in 16th, while his teammate Jenson Button came 12th after he was hampered by yellow flags.
Alonso told Sky Sports News: "We were P3 and P6 this morning when we had no traffic, so maybe that was too optimistic [to qualify there], but around sixth, seventh, eighth position we could fit both cars.
"Both unfortunately we could not manage to deliver the result and next time we need to improve, performance side and reliability side because we are a bit too fragile at the moment."
Lewis Hamilton will start on pole for tomorrow's race, ahead of Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel.
