McLaren have insisted that they do not fear Ferrari after the Italian team picked up their first win of the season at Silverstone.
Fernando Alonso took advantage of a pit stop error by Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel to claim first place on the podium.
Managing director Jonathan Neale said: "We are not intimidated. Up until the last week we were the only ones putting up a credible fight against Red Bull."
Despite McLaren's Lewis Hamilton finishing fourth and Jenson Button retiring early, Neale believes they deserved better-placed finishes.
"Lewis and Jenson did a fantastic and aggressive job out there racing and, but for other factors, we should have had both cars around second and fourth and we might feel differently about the whole grand prix," he said.
The next race on the F1 calendar is July 24 at Nurbergring, Germany.
